Theater de Speeldoos

Theater ‘De Speeldoos’  is the beating cultural heart of Baarn. Both the most important national theater performances as well as performances by local theater companies and movies are programmed in the theater. In addition, the theater is also the place for courses from the ‘Volks Universiteit Baarn’ and other diverse cultural activities. To further strengthen the position of ‘De Speeldoos’, the Municipality of Baarn has decided to bring the local library and the theater together under one roof at the current location of the theater.

At the end of 2021, the Baarn municipal council approved the design and the associated costs. We guide theater ‘De Speeldoos’ in the further elaboration and realization of the plans. Our activities include advising ‘De Speeldoos’ in the planning process, representing the theater organization in various necessary consultations and taking care of the coordination with the municipality, design parties and other users.
